My journey into glass and design started back in 2009, when I met my wife whose family have run a successful bespoke wooden door company for over 45 years, taken under the wing of maria a talented traditional stained glass artist, I was schooled in many forms of decorative glass, encouraged to find my own style and took inspiration from many different forms of glass art from Edwardian, Victorian, Georgian, art nouveau and finding Art Deco to be my greatest inspiration.
Over the years i have hand crafted lead light windows for hundreds of doors and frames finding modern techniques to create a blend of traditional stained glass inspired leaded light windows that meet todays need for security and thermal efficiency, but keeping traditional stained glass features – all hand drawn scale drawings, marbled and streaked coloured glass, textured and frosted effects, all leaded joints soldered and lead blackened, this is all completed on toughened glass which can remain single glazed or double glazed.
Bringing new life to old doors and frames is something i love and started to renovate traditional doors and frames, replicating lovely original stained glass windows, offering repairs to frame work from replacement panels and mouldings to modern draft proofing.
I always look forward to the next project and cant wait to continue my journey.
